Trotec will hold its first virtual laser exhibition later this month.

Taking place from 26 to 28 January, Trotec UK Live is an interactive event that will focus on “all things laser cutting, marking and engraving”.

The event is being organised by Trotec Laser UK and Ireland, with an aim to provide informative and insightful content for laser users of all experience levels, as well as businesses who are considering bringing a laser machine in-house.

The 17 sessions will include live product demonstrations, a materials workshop, customer interviews, and webinars on topics such as print and cut, photographic engraving, how to finance a laser machine, plotters vs galvo lasers, and the differences between glass and ceramic laser sources.

Registration is free and delegates can attend as many or as few sessions as they like. They can ask questions during the sessions via a live chat function.

Marketing executive James Hutton told Printweek: “Throughout the pandemic, we have seen an increase in interest in laser technology from all sectors, with clients keen to diversify during uncertain times.

“Due to the current restrictions and cancellation or postponement of key events, Trotec has taken the step to bring the exhibition experience direct to people's homes by hosting Trotec UK Live. Covering a wealth of different laser-related topics, attendees can tune in to sessions most relevant to them over the course of the three-day online laser exhibition.”

Separately, Trotec has just launched a new range of engravable PU leather, LaserLeather, which comes in six different colour combinations with a sheet size of 813x508mm. The company’s flagship Speedy 400 laser engraving and cutting machine appeared on Channel 5 programme The Gadget Show in November to mark the 60th anniversary of laser technology.
